Last week I was having lunch with a friend of mine. She was telling me of a water leak in her
home. She then said, ‘I caught myself thinking negatively about this situation, and I immediately
turned my thinking around. I began to feel grateful for my home, however small it is’.
She then told me, ‘As soon as I shifted my thinking, the plumber that was scheduled for the next
week called to say he could come and fix the leak today.’ My friend knew that she needed to
take control of her limiting thoughts and by doing so, her outcome changed.
This is a powerful example that I love to remember. Sometimes our outer experience changes
because we change our perception about what we are experience. It’s important to reflect on how
we can perceive life with a grateful attitude and take control over our thinking
